Tabernacle Street, TRURO, TR1 2EJ
Tucked away down a quiet street just off the city centre, there's a lively buzz about this smart modern brasserie. Uncovered tables, exposed brickwork and high ceilings with a sail loft feel add a seaside vibe, as do fish shoal lampshades. Seafood is the leading suit, with tapas dishes available daytime and evening. The main menu incorporates crab salad, mango, lime and cardamom salsa, which might lead on to monkfish Wellington wrapped in prosciutto with smoked garlic mash, scampi, pea velouté and crispy capers. Lemon tart with crème fraîche, meringue and blackberry sorbet is typical of the intricately worked desserts.
