Thurlestone Hotel

THURLESTONE, Kingsbridge, TQ7 3NN

1 rosettes

The view across the golf course and sub-tropical gardens to the sea is a cracker (especially from the terrace), and with its proximity to Salcombe, the Thurlestone is a south Devon hotspot. The Margaret Amelia restaurant is a star attraction, with its formal table settings and glorious views through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The menu makes good use of the region's produce in dishes that have classical foundations. Ham hock terrine with black pudding crumb and quail's egg is a fashionable opener before slow-braised feather blade of West Country beef, or whole lemon sole with shrimps and samphire. Finish on vanilla pannacotta with textures of raspberries.
