Gloucester Road, ROSS-ON-WYE, HR9 5LH
Every bit the contemporary dining room, Harry's Restaurant is named after the owner's grandson, not the iconic Venetian bar. Set in a large Georgian mansion with 11 acres of grounds, its modern shades of cream, tan and black, up-to-date furnishings and silk drapes blend with the original high ceilings and ornate plasterwork. The European comfort-oriented menu offers something for everyone, whether it's a roulade of king prawn and crab with ginger, chilli and mango salsa, or main-course roast pheasant breast with pheasant dumpling, fondant potato, braised red cabbage and bread sauce. Desserts follow the theme, pairing iced tiramisł with salted caramel doughnuts and toffee sauce.
