The Boot Inn

12 Boot Hill, REPTON, DE65 6FT

1 rosettes

Five miles from the National Brewery Centre, you would expect beer to be a strong draw, especially in a refurbished 17th-century coaching-inn. A range of evocatively named ales from its micro-brewery is a plank of The Boot's huge popularity. Good things happen with the food too, with a classics menu supplemented by a creative carte. Expect Jerusalem artichoke risotto with burnt cobnuts, or silky chicken and foie gras parfait with pickles, to start. Then try barbecued sea bass with a rolled oat and pancetta croquette and salt-baked beets, before a finale of chocolate, passionfruit and yogurt ices, precariously piled and sauced with sweet Japanese rice wine.
