Description
From its Cornish cliff-top location, this contemporary New England-style hotel offers visitors some of the most stunning views across the English Channel. The minimalist, chic and modern decor works in perfect harmony with the blue-horizon views, while the crashing waves can be heard as you sip aperitifs on the garden terrace. The smart dining room, with its neutral tones, continues the relaxed theme and there are plenty of windows to take in those views of the bay. Expect skilful cooking with an equally light, contemporary tone, driven by prime quality produce from the abundant local larder (unsurprisingly featuring fresh fish and shellfish from local waters). Start with hand-dived scallops, endive and orange, pistachio and red wine shallots and follow with sea bass, grilled leeks, buckwheat crêpe and wild mushrooms and red wine emulsion. Round off a memorable meal with chilled chocolate fondant and malted milk ice cream.

I went to this restaurant with high hopes but was slightly disappointed with the service and some of the dishes. The kitchen show some great technical skills in some dishes and lacking in others. Judging by the style of food on offer I would say the head chef reminds me of a young Delia Smith in the making !!

Came to this restaurant expecting high hopes but was slightly disappointed with the service. The food was of a good standard showing some exceptional technical skills but most was on an average scale. Judging by the style of food I would say the head chef reminds me of a young Delia Smith in the making !!
