This vibrant and stylish fusion Japanese restaurant packs in the crowds who come seeking big flavours and fashionable surroundings. The minimalist décor in the Clapham branch (there's one in the West End too) feels almost club-like with its sleek banquette seating, darkwood tables, mirrors, modern artwork with floral images and brightly lit cocktail bar. The open-plan kitchen gives everyone a good view of the talented chefs at work. Good quality ingredients are treated with care and respect in skillfully put together sushi, tempura, sashimi and the like, plus weekly specials. The lengthy menu runs to roast duck and foie gras nigiri, followed by roasted pork belly with vegetables and peri-peri hoisin sauce. A delicately sweet nashi gyoza filled with fruit and nuts served with mango sauce is an unusual finish.
