The Riding House Café

43-51 Great Titchfield St, LONDON, W1W 7PQ

1 rosettes

Handy for the Oxford Street shops. The Riding House Café is a big, high-decibel, all-day operation with an urban brasserie vibe. Head for a swivel seat at the white-tiled island bar overlooking the open kitchen, park at the long refectory table, or there are classic marble topped tables and a separate space with panelled walls and more intimate mood. A flexible menu of small plate options and modern brasserie dishes is the deal at lunch and dinner (don't forget to factor in the necessity for side orders), so start with Moorish lamb with smoked aubergine, then follow with yogurt-marinated spatchcock poussin with salt-baked celeriac and pomegranate, and wind things up with cinnamon doughnuts with chocolate sauce.
