A boarded floor, simple wooden tables and chairs, old railway benches and walls of exposed whitewashed brick give this restaurant an unassuming look. The cuisine of the southern states of the USA is the theme, which translates into homely cooking high on flavour. Try catfish gumbo - tender rice with okra, pork sausage and bright white flakes of fish - or wedge salad with bacon, chopped egg and buttermilk ranch dressing. Move on to ribs in a BBQ reduction with tomato and cucumber salad, or skate wing in a lightly spiced crab dressing with charred broccoli. Equally authentic are puddings such as the chocolate chess or lemon icebox pies.
