The Grove

The Green, Ealing, LONDON, W5 5QX

1 rosettes

A brick-built block of an old pub, The Grove is permanently abubble with convivial atmosphere, its bustling kitchen on view from the dining room. European brasserie cooking done with care and flair includes the likes of fried lamb's sweetbreads with minted pea purée and wild garlic, Spanish charcuterie and manchego boards with olives and home-baked bread, and robust main dishes such as roasted hake on crushed new potatoes in caper beurre noisette. Sticklers for tradition will welcome garlicky pork sausages with mash in thyme gravy, beer-battered haddock and mushy peas, or the 28-day aged Angus rib-eye with green peppercorn sauce. Finish with a properly bracing lemon tart and raspberry sorbet.
