At Kona, the stylishly smart décor - in soft greys and whites with well-dressed tables and good attention to detail - shows there's obviously no expense spared. The culinary inspiration is southern European. A bowl of velvety lobster bisque with a quenelle of white crabmeat and crème fraîche seems a suitably opulent starting point. At main course, there's Sussex lamb two ways, pinkly tender cannon and bolognaise, served with well-made polenta and pesto. Finish with a vibrant Mayer lemon and poppy streusel with added sweetness coming from the accompanying meringue. It is worth noting that all of this is more than matched by the switched-on service.
