Sake No Hana

23 Saint James's Street, LONDON, SW1A 1HA

2 rosettes

A striking L-shaped space with a lattice ceiling, bamboo columns and full-length windows hung with screens - it could only be a Japanese restaurant. There's a sushi counter, and a menu offering contemporary and traditional dishes made with top quality ingredients. Among smaller bites, octopus is cooked until meltingly tender and served with a sesame dressing, sea bass comes sashimi style with a chilli ponzu dressing, while the charcoal grill chips in with teriyaki-glazed lamb cutlets or corn-fed chicken with a sauce rich with chilli, ginger and garlic. There are sushi rolls such as one filled with fatty tuna and avocado, or king crab, seared salmon and nashi pear.
