Le Comptoir Gascon

Part of the Club Gascon (see entry) collection, this small establishment opposite Smithfield Market comprises a bistro-style restaurant with around a dozen small tables and a deli serving quality takeaway items in the same room. The aim is to provide generous portions of traditional French food inspired by the South West of France in a setting that recreates easy-going country chic in the City. Many items are sourced directly from France; think cassoulet Toulousain, perhaps beef onglet served with sauce bordelaise, or perhaps chargrilled baby squid with peppers and rouille. Booking is highly advisable.
