A former auction house focusing on the cuisine of Southern France and Corsica in a surprisingly sunny setting. The chefs in the open-to-view kitchen make good use of the grill to create Provenšal-inspired dishes such as grilled lamb saddle with smoked anchovies and Swiss chard, or loin of venison with sage gnocchi and wild mushrooms. It's simple, full-flavoured stuff. A starter of chicken liver terrine comes with pickled veg to cut through the richness, while another sees cannelloni filled with beef from the Camargue (enriched with a red wine and bone marrow sauce). For dessert, tuck into dark chocolate tart with orange blossom ice cream. Baranis is their basement bar.
