Angelus Restaurant

4 Bathurst Street, LONDON, W2 2SD

2 rosettes

A former pub which was transformed into a classy Parisian-style brasserie by renowned sommelier, Thierry Tomasin, Angelus Restaurant continues to impress with its luxe, art nouveau-inspired finish and ambitious, modern French cooking. It looks smart with its panelling and red leather banquettes, and the wine list offers some seriously good drinking, so this is a place worth knowing about. The kitchen turns out ambitious stuff, rooted in French tradition with modern ideas on show - wild rabbit and smoked gammon terrine, say, with dehydrated trompette mushrooms. Follow up with a deconstructed lamb navarin, or poached turbot in a shellfish and sea vegetable nage.
