Andrew Edmunds

46 Lexington Street, Soho, LONDON, W1F 0LW

1 rosettes

The tiny ground-floor dining room of this bistro stalwart is one of the West End's most intimate and romantic venues. With its simple rustic decor - wood floors and church pews, elbow-to-elbow tables with paper tablecloths, all low-lit by candles in wine bottles - it has an old Soho feel of a Dickensian tavern. The kitchen takes an equally uncomplicated and honest approach, producing seasonal, ingredients-driven dishes on a daily-changing handwritten menu that might take you from half a woodcock with braised lentils, via whole Cornish mackerel with fennel, blood orange and beetroot, or ox cheek ragu with pappardelle, to bergamot and pistachio cheesecake.
