60 Hope Street Restaurant

60 Hope Street, LIVERPOOL, L1 9BZ

1 rosettes

In a handy spot, close to the Philharmonic Hall and the two cathedrals, this popular Georgian townhouse restaurant still pulls in the crowds 15 years down the line. Simple, seasonal British food with a Mediterranean glow is the deal, starting with the comfort and fun of crisply-fried ham hock terrine with egg, chips and béarnaise sauce, followed by pan-fried salmon with a cassoulet of Spanish white beans and chorizo. Otherwise, go for something like roast rump of Cumbrian lamb with duck fat potatoes, parsnips and carrots and mint jus, and finish with pear and almond tart with dulce de leche ice cream.
