Wild Honey has been around since 1860, and despite a smart contemporary makeover, this family-run inn oozes character. Driven by the splendid larder of the rugged West Coast, the culinary emphasis is on wild, free-range and seasonal ingredients. The kitchen delivers well-defined flavours, whether it's a starter of scallops with crispy chicken wings, roasted carrots and carrot purée, or wild halibut served with cockles and mussels, peas, broad beans, and fennel velouté. Meatier fare might run to marinated lamb neck fillet with pearl barley, root vegetables, wild garlic, and red wine jus, while desserts such as warm toffee pudding with toffee sauce and salted caramel ice cream complete the picture.
