Town Hall Tavern

17 Westgate, LEEDS, LS1 2RA

1 rosettes

This bustling city-centre pub looks like any old boozer from the outside, but the interior is stylish and an all-day menu offers a wide choice of appealing ideas. Grilled king prawns are served in tomato and garlic sauce on top of a slice of toasted bread, and could precede pan-fried pork fillet on thyme jus with a notably good hash cake of pig's cheek, accompanied by contrasting sour cherries and poached apples. Pan-fried salmon fillet on rösti with prawns and creamy herb sauce is one of the signature dishes. Desserts are taken seriously too: home-made peanut butter ice cream the perfect foil for a chocolate brownie.
