Moy House

2 rosettes

Standing proud in 15 acres of grounds overlooking the bay at Lahinch, Moy House is full of period character, though the dining room with its minimalist chandeliers and panoramic views is more contemporary. As is the food, which draws on unimpeachable local supply lines for five-course seasonal dinner menus. First up might be goats' cheese agnolotti with rainbow chard, pine nuts and raisins, with a fish course of poached fillet of hake with coconut and garam masala, followed by pan-roast fillet of Irish beef, shallot purée, asparagus and girolles. Pear tarte Tatin with clotted cream is a satisfying ending.
