2 rosettes

Set in four acres of stunning grounds in the South Hams, this handsome William and Mary-era manor house provides a classy country-house package. The interior is packed with period details such as wood panelling and grand fireplaces, not least in the Queen Anne Restaurant, with its Russian pine and duck egg blue paintwork. The kitchen turns out modern British cooking with a good showing of regional ingredients. Pan-fried foie gras is teamed with pressed ham hock, roasted fig and port reduction, while pan-fried cod with chorizo and white bean bouillon and coriander is a typical main.
