After honing his skills in the kitchens of Restaurant Nathan Outlaw and Michael Caines's Coach House at Kentisbury Grange, Thomas Carr's cooking is on a roll, and he has set up shop in the dining room of the Georgian Olive Branch Guest House. Spanking-fresh line-caught fish landed daily at the harbour appears in a starter of Lundy plaice served with a crispy oyster, brown shrimps, and an invigorating cucumber dressing, followed by well-timed lamb loin paired with a fritter of shoulder meat, plus bubble-and-squeak, charred broccoli, a fried egg, roast garlic and rosemary. For dessert try carrot cake cheesecake - with creamy orange curd and cinnamon ice cream.
