Barrasford Arms

1 rosettes

In the peaceful village of Barrasford, close to Hadrian's Wall, this ivy-clad country inn is surrounded by the undulating grandeur of the Northumberland hills. The three dining rooms are kitted out with rustic furniture, the walls hung with pictures of the place in bygone days. Tony Binks works to a modern English template, the emphasis firmly placed on produce from local estates and punchy flavours. Twice-baked Cheddar cheese soufflé is a characteristically robust start, followed by roast pork tenderloin with spring onion clapshot, tender stem broccoli and cider sauce. Finish with apple, hazelnut and polenta crumble and vanilla custard.
