Mallyan Spout Hotel

1 rosettes

Named after the tumbling 70-ft waterfall behind the hotel, the Mallyan Spout clings comfortingly to a traditional style of furnishing and decor - textured wallpaper, large mirrors, high-backed upholstered chairs, that sort of thing. In the restaurant polite and helpful black-clad staff attend your fresh-rose-dressed, candlelit bare table, taking your order for, say, pan-fried scallops, butternut squash and pea risotto with parmesan tuile and white truffle, followed by pan-roasted duck breast with duck cottage pie, blueberry sauce and vegetable garnish, finishing with caramel tart, lemon cream peanut butter and lemon jelly. Old and New World wines are well balanced on the 50-bin list.
