This ever-popular venue is kitted out like a French brasserie, with a predominantly red decor, lamps on wooden tables, banquettes and attentive and friendly staff. Begin with a rich chicken live pâté flavoured with garlic and port, served with spiced pear compôte and toasted brioche, before moving on to pork fillet wrapped in pancetta and partnered with white beans and chorizo. Meats including BBQ pork loin and rib-eye steak are cooked on the grill. The lunchtime special might be croque monsieur followed by chocolate profiteroles, and is terrific value for money. For dessert, coconut and raspberry tart with pistachio ice cream hits the spot.
