Despite the Parisian-style brasserie décor, the menu here is surprisingly more international than staunchly French. Fish soup there may be, but here it comes with prawn beignets, and another starter may be chicken satay with peanut and coriander dip. Accurate timing and quality ingredients are clear in main courses: tender pork fillet with white bean and chorizo stew, Highland Reserve rib-eye, or baked nut-crusted salmon fillet with sesame dressing and roast vegetables. Puddings are pretty well cosmopolitan too, among them vanilla pannacotta with passionfruit and orange compôte. Its city-centre position, within the modern Holiday Inn, makes this a popular dining destination.
