Fowey Hall

Hanson Drive, FOWEY, PL23 1ET

2 rosettes

High above Fowey Estuary with views to inspire, the one-time grand Victorian house is now a stylish hotel with a family-friendly approach, including access for the youngers to its spa facilities. The dining options include a kid-friendly space and a wood-panelled restaurant which is just for grown-ups. The latter is the smart setting for some unpretentious food made from ingredients sourced from the region. Start with a full-flavoured Cornish fish soup with red mullet, rouille and croûtons, move on to organic Gelly Farm chicken or a steak cooked on the grill, and finish with a passionfruit cheesecake that gets the sweet and sharp balance spot on.
