Blairscove House & Restaurant

2 rosettes

Blairscove brims with charm, on a promontory overlooking peaceful Dunmanus Bay. The main house is Georgian, and the accommodation and restaurant occupy a pretty development facing a pond, in what were the piggery, stables and barn. The dining room is full of character, not least from striking modern artworks. Stroll to the buffet, cruise-ship fashion, and help yourself to hors d'oeuvres before ordering from the main menu for the principal dish. That could be peppered medallions of wild venison, served with celeriac gratin and redcurrant compôte, or fillet of hake with an oriental spin. Then it's back to serve yourself for puddings.
