Bang Restaurant

11 Merrion Row, DUBLIN, ROI,

2 rosettes

The slick and stylish Bang is handy for the National Concert Hall, with a pre-theatre menu to ensure you don't miss a note, but there's also a tasting menu which is worth sticking around for. Contemporary artworks fit the bill in a split-level space that positively buzzes with life much of the time. A modern approach in the kitchen means the sea trout is smoked in hay and comes with buttermilk and sorrel picada, and a soft-boiled hen's egg gets a dusting of grated goie gras. Next up, sea bream arrives with a boneless, crispy chicken wing, and slow-cooked beef in a more traditional pairing with champ and fresh horseradish.
