The Unicorn Inn

Market Place, DEDDINGTON, Banbury, OX15 0SE

1 rosettes

In the heart of the village, this refurbished 17th-century former coaching inn has a cosy bar warmed by a real fire to please discerning drinkers and a relaxed restaurant with its exposed stone walls and open kitchen. Chef-patron Johnny Parke's modern British cooking is prepared with good technique and plenty of flair. A well-presented starter of chicken and duck liver parfait, pistachio, poached rhubarb and toast could be followed by roast fillet of stone bass, buttered potato, Swiss chard, artichoke and Ibérico ham. Round things off with the home-made raspberry Bakewell tart and salted caramel ice cream. When the sun shines, tables on the attractive rear terrace are highly prized.
