Daylesford Farm Café

1 rosettes

On the Gloucestershire farmland that spawned a mini-empire, the Daylesford Farmshop and Café occupies a smartly converted barn with a New England finish and an open-to-view kitchen. The food makes a virtue of simplicity, with quality ingredients allowed to shine. A first-course chicken liver parfait served in a Kilner jar has fabulous depth of flavour and comes with home-made ciabatta, or go for barley risotto with steamed celeriac, cavolo nero and pumpkin seed pesto. Venison pappardelle with woodland mushrooms and parmesan is a memorable pasta dish, and the finishing flourish could be deeply rich chocolate nemesis with vanilla ice cream.
