Fawsley Hall

Fawsley, DAVENTRY, NN11 3BA

2 rosettes

Plantagenets, Tudors and Georgians all had a go at creating the beguiling architectural mishmash we see today, and it screams 'grand' with its oak panels, stone arches and the fabulous Cedar Restaurant, where a beamed ceiling, huge inglenook and flickering candlelight create a sense of occasion. That said, a proper feeling of intimacy pervades the place, and the kitchen deals in imaginative 21st-century ideas. Among first courses, roasted scallops arrive in the fashionable company of pork belly and pickled cauliflower, rump of English lamb stars among main courses and to finish toffee pannacotta is partnered with coffee soil and honeycomb.
