The garden runs down to the banks of the River Suir and the Comeragh Mountains loom in the background - it's a charming spot. The restaurant is in the original Georgian house, so has plenty of character and a traditional, period feel, and the kitchen keeps things simple. Two crisp and golden fishcakes might get the ball rolling, packed with fish and herbs, and served with home-made tartare sauce and dressed salad leaves. Next up, roast rack of lamb comes nicely pink and in the company of a redcurrant and rosemary sauce, plus accurately cooked vegetables. For dessert, a wobbly pannacotta is flavoured with a mix of berries.
