Whichever of the two restaurants at this classy hotel you choose, good views over the water are guaranteed, as is a fine showing of regional produce. Chef-patron Alex Aitken is the man behind it all. The Upper Deck is pretty swanky, featuring a sleek, contemporary bar and an upmarket seasidey vibe, or there's the recently extended terrace. The cooking takes a modern British route through contemporary tastes and, given the setting, plenty of locally-landed fish. Get going with cannelloni of smoked salmon, move on to a 'daily classic' such as confit duck leg (Tuesday), or sea bream with clam and shellfish butter sauce.
