The Chef's Table

Music Hall Passage, CHESTER, CH1 2EU

2 rosettes

At the end of a narrow alley between a dress shop and a globally known coffee house, Chef's Table is the place for an all-day brunch, maybe an Isle of Man crab sandwich, a roast lamb rump salad or a Hebridean black pudding tattie scone. Two- or three-course, fixed-price lunches are served until 3pm. In the evening, start with clear-flavoured fresh squid in its own ink, saffron aïoli, chorizo purée and monk's beard agretti, and follow with roast rack of lamb with pistachio, confit tomatoes, broad beans, oca du Peru, carrots and even nasturtiums. To finish, try poached rhubarb, rhubarb ripple and bubble gum ice cream, candyfloss and toasted almonds.
