Alveston House Hotel

Davids Lane, ALVESTON, Bristol, BS35 2LA

1 rosettes

Whitewashed and Georgian on the outside, yet revamped in a clean-cut contemporary style inside, Alveston House Hotel sits in lovely walled gardens near to Bristol. A secluded walled garden is just the spot for alfresco aperitifs before settling into the soothing caramel and cream hued setting of Carriages restaurant for seasonally-changing menus which make the most of fine regionally-sourced produce. Simple, trustworthy combinations set the tone - perhaps smoked haddock and salmon fishcakes with lemon and dill mayonnaise, followed by honey-glazed rump of lamb with aubergine and anchovy confit, or pan-fried sea bass fillet on a bed of spinach with mushroom and tarragon sauce. End indulgently with chocolate, rum and raisin fondant with honeycomb ice cream.
