The Bell Inn

BROOK, Lyndhurst, SO43 7HE

1 rosettes

In the ownership of the same family since George III was on the throne, The Bell is in a picturesque New Forest village not far from Lyndhurst, and is more than a simple country inn: it has a pair of golf courses. The interior looks the modernised rustic part, with blackboard menus and log fires in winter, and plenty of gracefully presented local produce on offer. Confit quail and parsley pie with mushroom duxelle might kick things off, as the preamble to roast pheasant served with truffled dauphinoise potato and roasted root vegetables. Finish with a rib-sticking golden syrup sponge pudding with vanilla crème anglaise.
