The Three Tuns

Ringwood Road, BRANSGORE, BH23 8JH

1 rosettes

Picture this: a picture-postcard 17th-century thatched gem deep in the New Forest National Park which is a delight in summer, festooned with flowers, and cosy in winter, with blazing log fires warming the low beamed bar and dining areas. That's the Three Tuns, which draws foodies and forest visitors for its charm and character, its buzzy atmosphere, the glorious sun-drenched garden, and an eclectic menu that lists pub classics alongside adventurous modern British gastropub dishes. Using game from surrounding estates, locally-shot venison, farm meats and fish delivered to door, the seasonal menu kicks off with a robust Sicilian fish soup full of chunks of sea bass and red mullet and the Mediterranean flavours of fennel, peppers and tomatoes. Follow with Landes chicken roasted with garlic and paired with snails, fondant potato, tomato salad and rocket pesto. To finish, chocolate mousse comes with hazelnut macaroons and popping candy for a bit of fun.
