The Three Gables

St Margaret Street, BRADFORD-ON-AVON, BA15 1DA

2 rosettes

Opposite the town bridge, this old greystone building has been extensively restored in a sleek contemporary style. Eat in the upstairs dining room (which features the eponymous gables) or alfresco in summer. Dishes have modern Mediterranean feel, so you might want to start with ragout of ox cheek with a crispy hen egg, or Cornish crab fingers, while main courses might include poached guinea fowl with wild mushroom risotto and oyster mushrooms, or glazed fillet of sea bass with creamed cauliflower, onion bahji and curry oil. Caramel pannacotta with mandarin ice cream brings things to a satisfying close.
