The Clog & Billycock

And there's something else you should know: this pub is part of Ribble Valley Inns, a small group of Lancashire pubs co-owned by food hero Nigel Haworth, which means it is truly a pub - local Thwaites ales, a menu of regional, rustic dishes, and an unpretentious vibe. A true local. Lucky Pleasington. It may be rustic but it certainly isn't rough-and-ready - neutral colours in the modern vein are on the walls, fires glow in the grates, and there's a smart patio garden for when the sun is up. Expect the likes of fish pie packed with North Sea fish, the mash topping sprinkled with Mrs Kirkham's Lancashire cheese, or Goosnargh chicken stuffed with garlic and herb butter. There's ploughman's, elm-wood platters to share, sandwiches and an excellent children's menu, too.
