The Master Builders at Bucklers Hard

Bucklers Hard, BEAULIEU, SO42 7XB

1 rosettes

The Master Builder's is a recently restored 18th-century hotel that was once home to famous shipbuilder Henry Adams. He's the man responsible for several of Nelson's ships, built here on the River Beaulieu, where the grounds run down too. You can dine in the informal pub-like Yachtsman bar or in the more formal main restaurant, though the bar menu isn't the same in the evenings. The kitchen has an emphasis on local fish and seafood but uses local ingredients across the board. Try Lymington crab salad followed by rib-eye steak with béarnaise sauce and end with rhubarb millefeuille, custard and rhubarb sorbet.
