The restaurant at this grand baronial-style hotel on the River Moy is the Kitchen Restaurant, which occupies the original kitchen and pantry area, looking good with its linen-clad tables and food-related prints on the walls. There's a definite French classicism to the kitchen's output, as well as an appreciation of top-quality materials. Start perhaps with oxtail ravioli, or textures of prawn with rouille and sea lettuce. Main courses might deliver beef fillet with swede purée and pearls, mushrooms, carrots and port and thyme jus, or more adventurous-sounding spicy monkfish fillet with pickled radish, cauliflower purée, crispy fennel pollen, tomato and sumac velouté and lobster oil.
