Main Street, WOMBLETON, YO62 7RW
When he retired from his previous job, the landlord bought this local, built a complete new kitchen and renovated the rest of it. Today the traditional warm and genuine Yorkshire hospitality continues, with the serving of fine ales and good food - a tradition started in the 15th century when monks brewed beer for weary travellers. Local produce features in the menus, which change seasonally. Starters may include smoked chicken and avocado salad with raspberry dressing, while main courses range from roast sirloin of Harome beef and Yorkshire pudding to tagliatelle, brie, garlic, tomatoes and aubergine croquet.
