The Bridgewater Arms

Set in a former schoolhouse, this Grade II listed pub is decorated with original photographs of the building and its pupils. It prides itself on offering high quality, simple meals made with local produce, particularly seafood. Cheddar and spinach soufflé, followed by confit leg of duck with garlic mash and red wine sauce is a typical meal, while fishy offerings could include tiger prawn and monkfish curry with pilau rice; and grilled cod chunk, spring onion mash, mussels and curry cream. Afterwards, the historic Winston Bridge and beautiful views to the church are a short stroll away.
