Chichester Road, WEST WITTERING, PO20 8QA
Just a mile from the beach at West Wittering and set in lovely rural surroundings, this pretty redbrick, tile-hung pub dates to the 19th century. They're serious about their food here and the menu offers a good selection of interesting dishes. You could start with pulled pork rillette, crackling and apple sauce, and move on to a sharing platter - whole baked rosemary and honey camembert, maybe, or if you don't want to share there are pub classics like slow-cooked sticky beef rib with French fries; or pan-fried sea bream with crushed new potatoes.
