An old country pub belonging to the King Henry's Taverns group. Once a coaching inn, the small area opposite the main bar was originally the archway where coaches would swing in to offload their weary passengers. In winter the leather chesterfields around the log fires create a cosy feel, while in summer the surrounding footpaths and bridleways offer delightful walks. The menu of freshly prepared dishes has choices for both small and large appetites; two children's menus span ages 2 to 11. Typical dishes are wholetail golden scampi; calves' liver and bacon; Indian curries; and vegetable lasagne.
