The Trooper

Watling Street, WALL, WS14 0AN

The Trooper is a Victorian pub in the Roman village of Wall, built on the original line of Watling Street, now superseded by the A5. Open fires welcome you to the bar, where you'll find local ales including Black Country brewer Holden's Golden Glow. There's a great terrace for fine days and the modern rustic restaurant serves mature Longhorn and Wagyu steaks and those from local Hereford suppliers, plus fresh pizza from the wood-fired oven. The large rear garden has a children's play area and views of Lichfield Cathedral's lofty spire.
