The Quarryman Inn

Close to the famous Camel Trail, this friendly 18th-century free house has evolved from a courtyard of cottages once home to slate workers from the nearby quarry. Several bow windows, one of which features a stained-glass quarryman panel, add character to this unusual inn. The pub's signature dishes are chargrilled steaks served on sizzling platters and fresh local seafood; puddings are on the blackboard. Meals and drinks can be enjoyed outside in the slate courtyard in summer, or by a roaring fire in colder months.
