The Raglan Arms

Llandenny, USK, NP15 1DL

At the heart of a small village tucked between Tintern Forest and the rich agricultural lands of the Usk Valley, this neat, stone-built 19th-century pub gains plaudits for its ever-varying, oft-changing menu. The high quality local produce and culinary skills of the team here have gained an AA Rosette for the compact, thoughtfully-balanced menu which mixes the best of Welsh with a more international reach. Indulge with a starter of smoked haddock on a toasted muffin 'benedict' style and clear the palate with one of 18 wines by the glass; then launch into roast fillet of brill with scallops, Parma ham and olive oil mash, or perhaps risotto with butternut squash, sage and parmesan. Local pork and lamb also feature, together with village-grown vegetables and home-cured bacon. Customers popping in for a fireside pint will appreciate the real ales form the respected Wye Valley Brewery.
