Tim and Georgina Robinson took over the reins of this Truro city-centre pub in 2011, bringing with them their respective skills in the kitchen and top quality front-of-house experience. There's a menu full of interesting, modern dishes, freshly prepared on the premises. Kick off with a shareable chips and dips, or beer-battered squid rings with chill mayo, then Cornish crab hash cakes with red pepper salsa; or trio of smoked meats with beetroot chutney, followed by roast skate wing with pork belly and lentil stew; Mediterranean fish stew; or rare venison with celeriac dauphinoise, red cabbage and jus. Those with a sweet tooth will be tempted by the Baileys and Malteser cheesecake. Regular themed evenings take place, and plans for further refurbishment are scheduled in 2012.
