Chapel Hill, TINTERN PARVA, NP16 6TE
Set against the stunning backdrop of Tintern Abbey next to the River Wye, this historic stone-built inn dates back to the 12th century. In the bar, locally brewed ales from Wye Valley and Kingstone breweries are joined by up to three local ciders. Once the ferryman's cottage and boat house, the cosy restaurant showcases local produce in dishes of Caerphilly, leek and minted pea risotto; beef, Wye Valley ale and mushroom pie; or pork, cider and apple sausages with caramelised onion mash. Finish with apple and blackberry oat crumble and bara brith ice cream.
