Dunster Mill Lane, THREE LEG CROSS, Ticehurst, TN5 7HH
The Bull started life as a Wealden hall house in 14th century, reputedly one of the oldest dwellings in the country, and is set in a hamlet close to Bewl Water. The interior is crammed with oak beams, inglenook fireplaces, quarry-tiled floors, and a mass of small intimate areas in the bar. The extensive gardens include a duck pond, petanque pitch, aviary and children's play area, making them popular with families. Menus offer pub favourites ranging from freshly baked baguettes and bar snacks to hearty dishes full of comfort, such steak and kidney suet pudding and honey roast ham, egg and chips.
